Variable Dot Setup opens “Variable Dot Curve” dialog (Figure 3) providing control over total coverage, rate of coverage, and drop by drop transition (drop ratios)
Percent
- This option is the amount of coverage from 0% ink to 100% ink. (Left to Right)
Target Percent
- This option is the amount of placement (coverage) from 0% to 100%. (Up, Down)
Edit
- Click this pull down menu to select the coverage, or transition curve for each channel.
Coverage
- This curve represents overall rate and total dot placement for the selected channel.
Transition[s]
- This represents overall rate and volume of dot size to dot size transitions (E. g. Transition 1 - Small dot to Medium dot, Transition 2- Medium dot to Large dot)
Copy
- This option allows you to configure one channel and copy the curve to one or more other channels.
Input
- This option is the “Percentage". (Left to Right)
Output
- This option is the “Target Percentage". (Up, Down)
Import
- This button allows you to import [ “.vds (VadDot Settings)] file.
Export
- This button allows you to export [ “.vds (VadDot Settings)] file.
Amount
- This option is percent of dots used.
Dot Size
- This option represents which dot sizes are used.
